‘Who Is…’ is the weekly feature where we highlight up-coming talent from the house, garage, bass and Grime scenes.

This week we take a look at Bristol’s hottest talent in the House and Bass club circuit – Notion!

Having been producing for over 2 years Notion has primarily made his name from his productions. We first became aware of the Bristol producer throughout the bass stomping dark garage beat In The Corner, part of Coyote Record’s Coyote Kings Compilation from early 2014.

Since then, Notion has become a name for which and true heads in the House and Bass scene have been looking towards when it comes to quality production. He claims “I am definitely a Garage guy through and through. Some call it Bass House but it’s garage to me… there’s  a-lot more people jumping on it”.

The Last Night Ep released via Project Allout earlier this April was the Bristol producer’s first signature release.  His latest collaboration with Conducta, another emerging producer in the scene, in Felt This Way, is set to be a track in high demand once it gets released, further adding to their reputations!

Notion has just released his latest project In The Air – a 3 track EP via Hybrid Theory’s Four40 Record label – has been gaining support from the established names such as DJ Q, Flava D and Preditah.

Notion is taking his love for the scene nationwide with his DJing too ;”Leeds is sick, up north is always good, same with south with places like Bristol and Brighton”.

What is great to see with talent like Notion is how and where he foresees his music going-  “It’s music for a function, for a purpose; it’s music meant to be played in raves”.
