The 2016 Ibiza season is in full swing and with it being a momentous year for many reasons, we’ve decided to help you decide which nights to attend… we present you Resonate Sound’s must Visit Ibiza Parties of 2016.
5. Solomun +1
Every Sunday Solomun shuts down the lively Pacha with a special B2B. Each week sees the German invite one of the biggest names in house and techno for an all night session.
Originally seen as bold move – doing an underground party at the “commercial” Pacha – the idea has proved to be a masterstroke from Team Solomun. Pacha is packed to the rafters every Sunday and has turned into one of THE parties on the island.
Tip: This night will be busy! Enjoy your pre-drinks and arrive for 3am. You will still catch a lot of the action, with a less packed dancefloor. Also, visit the Funky Room, some of Ibiza’s greatest house DJs often make an appearance.
Symbolised by it’s wacky stage shows, confetti and inflatable’s, Elrow is certainly the craziest party you will visit on the island.
This year sees the addition of DJs taking over the Space Terrace all night. Expect the likes of Andrea Oliva, Eats Everything, Groove Armada, Paco Osuna,Richy Ahmed, Sasha and Joris Voorn.
Tip: There are not many places you can go fancy dress in The White Isle; however, if you want to glam up your night-time outfit, Elrow is definitely the night to do so.
3. Sven Vath’s Cocoon
A true Ibiza institution , Sven Vath’s Cocoon has dominated the island’s techno scene over the past decade.
Seen as the No.1 night for Techno, Monday night’s belong to Cocoon, Sven Vath and Amnesia. Expect the biggest names in Techno to accompany Papa Sven, including Nina Kraviz, tINI, Richie Hawtin & more.
Tip: It’s not all about the Terrace and Sven. Don’t miss out on some great names playing on the Main Stage.
2. Marco Carola – Music On
Amnesia has scored another big win with Marco Carola’s Music On. In terms stature and history, Music On is certainly the new kid on the block compared to the Cocoon’s on the island.
Nonetheless, Music On can boast being Amnesia’s busiest night. Marco Carola’s popularity has grown from strength to strength; it will be interesting to see whether Amnesia can keep hold of its most prized asset in the years to come.
Tip: Stay till the end!!! Due to Government pressures, the party does not go beyond it’s scheduled 6.30am closing; however, seeing the sun and lights come through the terrace is a joy to behold
1.Carl Cox – Music Is Revolution (The Final Chapter)
With it being its last year, it’s only right that the Number 1 spot goes to both Space and Carl Cox. A partnership stretching over 20 years, Carl Cox and Space have truly made their mark on the island like none other, shaping it’s past, present and future.
If you are heading to Ibiza this summer, make sure you say goodbye to two of its most loved children.
Tip: If you do not have a ticket and want value for money, go on the Float Your Boat Party to get a cheaper deal for Music Is Revolution.
